Bats Better was started in 2005 when Bruce Thomas left the University of California San Diego to start his own shop. After seven years of managing the School of Engineering machine shops and three years of design engineering in the Plasma/Fusion Energy Lab and Combustion Engineering Lab, Bruce made the jump to the private sector.
